Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bounce back from the 97th minute equaliser they conceded in the Premier League on Sunday by picking up another three points in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side had been reduced to 10 men long before Everton had snatched a point. They were also without Harry Kane, whom is expected to make the trip to the Serbian capital this week.
It was only two weeks ago that Spurs thrashed Red Star Belgrade 5-0 at their new stadium, which saw them go two up inside 16 minutes, as both Kane and Son Heung-min helped themselves to a brace each.
Much has been made of Spurs’ failure to win a single game on their travels this season but it’s going to happen at some point. Given the scoreline between these two in matchday 3, and the gulf in quality between the two sides, I am surprised the bookmakers are offering such a good price on an away win.
Spurs are only one point above Red Star in the group and still have to go to Bayern Munich, so I think Pochettino will be keen to pick up three points on Wednesday and name his strongest side, or very close to it.
