Tottenham Hotspur head into their second Champions League group stage match with a tough task on their hands as they host German champions Bayern Munich.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side blew a 2-0 lead to draw at Olympiacos in their first group game whilst Bayern Munich thrashed Red Star Belgrade 3-0 at the Allianz Arena.
The English side have won just three of their first seven Premier League matches to start the new season and didn’t look too impressive in beating either Aston Villa or Southampton either.
Spurs have a few issues in the camp, mainly with Christian Eriksen not getting his summer transfer away from the club and seeing him playing time limited. Defensively they have a couple of injuries which means Serge Aurier is likely to start at right-back which could be a big problem.
Bayern Munich are going to breach the Tottenham defence. The Premier League side have kept just one clean sheet this season and have looked opened at times. The Bundesliga side have averaged more than three goals per game in their six league games to start the new season.
Robert Lewandowski, Thiago Alcantara, Serge Gnabry and co are much more dangerous than Olympiacos on paper and the bookmakers agree by making the visitors to North London only just above evens against last season’s runners-up.
It’s not great value but I am confident Bayern Munich will win on Tuesday night based on the performances of both sides this season.
Best bet: Bayern Munich to win is 2.14 with Betfair
